We are a totally independent builder of log, timber frame and hybrid homes representing Hearthstone Homes, Inc. and the exclusive representative for Classic Metal Roofing Systems in this area. Our company was formed in 1990 once we bought our own log home. Our construction experience began as a teenager working as labor on jobsites for my Father and Grandfather who were accomplished builders of very fine upscale homes. I spent my summers with them and after college decided to venture into commercial and industrial construction. I worked with a steel company for sixteen years, which magnified the lifelong attitude that it is either perfect or it is wrong. After that I worked with two construction companies over a period of twenty-three years building various sizes of commercial and industrial buildings as well as switches for the infant cell phone business during the nineties. I retired from commercial and industrial construction nineteen years ago after having grown my log and timber frame home business to a point that it demanded full time attention. Our log and timber frame business is Thirty-Three years old and my roofing business is Five years old. We had our new website launched after having had several homes featured in national magazines. We were recruited to represent Classic Metal Roofing Systems through our website based on our impeccable reputation. Our web site gives us the exposure to attract those who are interested in superior construction products.

Jackie and I began the task of research for the right log home package in 1987.
The internet was not publicly used and log home shows had not yet been conceived. There-fore we spent many weekends traveling to distant locations to talk to sales people about what they had to offer. Most were interested in nothing more than selling wood.

Having a lifelong construction background on construction and knowing nothing about log homes, I had many questions of a general construction nature that most of the sales people that we encountered either could not or would not answer.

After three years of travel and research we purchased a log package, not by being sold but by educating ourselves in what options were available and what would function as a total structure.

After we bought our log package and as we were having dinner one evening, Jackie, who had no construction knowledge, made a piercing comment. Jackie said to me,” There is a void in the log home business to be filled by someone who really cares about the final home and is well versed in general construction.

The wheels began to turn and Country Comfort Homes was born. Knowing the dilemma that most find themselves in during the research process, our very personal approach to this business was formed.

We are proud of the life’s experiences that we have had in construction and are anxious to use that experience to help others through the entire building process.
